Travel and Maps

Many international carriers offer flights to Munich Airport. Taxis from Munich Airport to the city centre cost about 50 Euros. You can reach the centre of Munich (e.g. the main railway station "Hauptbahnhof") very conveniently by public transport with the lines S1 or S8 (about 8 Euros) departing alternating every ten minutes to Munich city. Just follow the green sign S when leaving the airport. There is a MVV counter at the airport where you get information and tickets. It takes 40 min to get to the Munich Railway Station ("Hauptbahnhof") and another 3 min to get to Theresienstr. (U2 and U8).

At Marienplatz you can change to the underground train (U3 and U6) and go to the stations „Odeonsplatz"  or  "Universität", from where you reach the hotels close to the University. Taking a taxi from the Railway Station to the hotels listed above costs 8-10 Euros.
